Hardneck 🍂

Elephant Garlic 🍂
Huge cloves, mild taste. Actually a type of leek, but widely grown like garlic.


🧠 Tips

Plant individual cloves pointy-end up, 2 inches deep

Mulch heavily in winter to protect roots

Cut off scapes (flower stalks) in spring to boost bulb size

Harvest when half the leaves are yellowed (usually June–July)

Cure bulbs in a shady, airy spot for 2–3 weeks before storage
